GREENSBORO -- January 2, 2008: Kim Pyle has been picked as the new VP/Market Manager for Clear Channel's five-station Greensboro cluster.

3. Arbitron: Black, Hispanic PPM Targets Exceed Benchmarks In December
NEW YORK -- January 2, 2009: With the PPM now commercialized in 14 markets, Arbitron said it exceeded its sample target by 6 percent for black persons 6+ and beat its Hispanic 6+ sample target by 14 percent in the December survey month.

4. Album Sales Plummet In '08, Download Sales Rise
WHITE PLAINS, NY -- January 2, 2009: Nielsen SoundScan reports that overall album sales fell by 8.5 percent in 2008, while digital track sales were up by 27 percent and digital album sales rose by 32 percent.

NEW YORK -- December 31, 2008: Fourteen streams made the minimum reporting standards in the December PPMs, including the streams for WAOK-AM/Atlanta, KVIL-FM/Dallas, and WAMU-FM/Washington in new PPM markets.

WASHINGTON -- December 30, 2008: Cumulus, Dickey Broadcasting, and Urban Radio are among the broadcasters who have received notices of apparent liability from the FCC for alleged violations of EEO rules.

BRAINERD, MN -- December 29, 2008: A Minnesota judge has denied the RIAA's request to appeal his earlier decision to order a retrial in the only one of thousands of peer-to-peer lawsuits that has gone to trial.

19. Journal Grants 'Retention Awards' To Execs
MILWAUKEE -- December 29, 2008: Journal Communications has granted two-year "retention awards" to five executives, including CEO Steven Smith, in the form of restricted class B stock that vests and becomes non-forfeitable after two years.

20. Geico Leads National Spots
WHITE PLAINS, NY -- December 29, 2008: Insurance giant Geico ran the most radio spots the week of December 22-28, reports Media Monitors, with the HD Digital Radio Alliance right behind.
