NEW YORK—December 4: The Radio Advertising Bureau announced Monday morning that combined spot and non-spot revenue for the radio industry increased 6% in October.

Broken down by category, local ad spending - which has struggled this year - posted a 2% increase. National spending rose 14%. Total combined national and local ad sales dollars increased 5% for the month. Taken by itself, non-spot revenue grew 15%. in October of this year compared to October of last year.
Through the first ten months of 2006, combined spot and non-spot radio spending was flat, with national up 3% and local down 1%. Non-spot revenue for the first ten months of the year were up 10%.
