Primary Responsibilities:
The National Events Account Executive is responsible for new business development and acquisition to support the profitability efforts of Salem Communications National Promotions Department. Key activities performed by the National Events Account Executive include:

Sales prospecting

Focused client needs analysis for the purpose of developing customized media solutions that incorporate Salem promotional events, our platforms and other media assets.

Budget exceeding results through new business

Market research

Client relationship management

Preparation of proposals for clients and maintaining well-organized records.

Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners, and leverage these relationships.

The National Events Account Executive is tasked to sell the events and other initiatives developed by the National Promotions department to businesses with national distribution of their products and services. The National Events Account Executive works well under pressure is able to manage multiple activities simultaneously, and re-prioritize efforts when plans change or the need arises.

The National Events Account Executive prepares detailed sales reports, including pending business by event and/or category, contacts lists, post sales analysis on an event/category basis.
Essential Functions:

The National Events Account Executive must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have high-energy and creativity, and possess excellent customer service, sales and communication skills. The National Events Account Executive should pursue new market opportunities to increase event sales. They meet with clients regularly; they continuously focus on improving customer satisfaction to create customer loyalty.

Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook Calendar, and PowerPoint.

Applicants should possess at least 5 years of successful radio and/or advertising sales experiences and demonstrate a proven track record of new business development and building executive-level relationships.

Applicants must possess solid computer skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills as well as strong presentation and negotiation skills.

Regular travel may be necessary. Must be healthy enough for regular travel by both auto and airplane. Must have a valid drivers license.

The National Events Account Executive must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent; a bachelor's degree and/or Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification are preferred.
