Buckley Radio Signs For Arbitron PPM Ratings Service In New York

Arbitron announced Thursday that Buckley Radio, the owner of WOR-AM New York and the WOR Radio Network, has entered into a multi-year agreement for Arbitron’s radio ratings services that include Portable People Meter audience measurement services when deployed in New York.


Richard Buckley, chairman and chief executive officer of Buckley Broadcast Group commented, “WOR Radio 710 is a leading talk radio station in the country and we have always been on the cutting edge of broadcasting technology. We were the first AM station in New York to go HD. In signing for the Arbitron Portable People Meter service in New York, we are taking advantage of the most advanced audience ratings technology to better serve our advertisers and our listeners.”

“The Portable People Meter will provide additional integrity to the ratings results which we believe will be embraced by the advertisers on Buckley Radio” said Carol Hanley, senior vice president, Sales, Arbitron. “With wide spread industry use, the Portable People Meter will help radio enhance its credibility among advertisers and help improve the programming it offers to listeners.”
