New York Times' Andrew Ross Sorkin To Keynote  Forecast 2011

Andrew Ross Sorkin joins the lineup at Radio Ink's Forecast 2011, set for December 7, 2010 at the Harvard Club in New York. Sorkin is the chief mergers and acquisitions reporter for the New York Times and the best-selling author of the recent Too Big to Fail, and he's as well connected in the financial world as anyone in radio. His thrice-daily "Business Brief With Andrew Ross Sorkin" is produced and distributed by United Stations Radio Networks.

"Our Forecast conference is designed to help stations and owners predict the coming year," Radio Ink Publisher Eric Rhoads said. "Having a major economic force like Andrew Ross Sorkin speaking to offer his economic forecast is significant. If you've not heard Sorkin speak, it's not to be missed."

Sorkin's Forecast keynote is sure to be highlighted by the sharp and timely observations he's become known for in his frequent guest appearances on network and cable news and talk shows including Today, Hardball, and Good Morning America, and as a guest host on CNBC's Squawk Box.

Farid Suleman To Co-Chair Radio Ink's Forecast 2011

Radio Ink is pleased to announce that Citadel CEO Farid Suleman will co-chair Forecast 2011, set for December 7, 2010 at the Harvard Club in New York.

Suleman has headed Citadel since 2002, when he arrived from the President/CEO post at Infinity Broadcasting. He's a respected industry vet with a background in both the financial and operational sides of the business, and Forecast will benefit from his valuable insights into what top executives most need to know and understand in these complex times.

"This concept of co-chairs for our conference assures that our agenda is fresh each year and influenced by those who have significant operational responsibilities within our industry, enabling us to reflect the state of radio and its issues," Radio Ink Publisher Eric Rhoads said. "Though Farid and I don't always see eye-to-eye in our philosophies on how to run a radio company, one cannot deny his impact on industry trends, which is why we're thrilled to have him as a co-chair for Forecast 2011. His acceptance of this appointment shows his willingness to work with those of differing opinions and to keep an open dialogue, which is important not only to Forecast, but the industry overall."

Radio is looking at a financial recovery, but progress is still slow and the future is uncertain. With Suleman's contributions, Forecast adds the perspective of an industry leader who's brought his company through tough times to a bright and revitalized future.

Suleman will co-chair Forecast with respected Wells Fargo Securities analyst Marci Ryvicker.

Marci Ryvicker To Co-Chair Radio Ink's Forecast 2011

Radio Ink is pleased to announce that Wells Fargo Securities' Marci Ryvicker, one of the most respected equity analysts covering the media industry, will co-chair Forecast 2011, set for December 7, 2010 at the Harvard Club in New York. Ryvicker, known for her thoughtful and incisive take on the media business, is frequently quoted in the financial, trade, and mainstream press and is an in-demand speaker at the highest-level financial events.

Radio Ink Publisher Eric Rhoads said, "Marci is one of the most respected analysts tracking radio, and she brings a tremendous asset of knowledge to Forecast as we plan this event."

The economy is recovering, but progress remains slow and uncertain, and there will be much discussion at Forecast about the state of the radio industry and how it must adapt to survive, thrive, and keep Wall Street interested. Marci Ryvicker has long been the go-to authority for those who need an expert and unbiased take on the real state of the broadcast industry, and having her input and advice on the program will help make this year's Forecast as sharply focused and timely as it can be.

"I am really looking forward to the opportunity of working with Forecast co-Chair Marci Ryvicker," Radio Ink VP/GM Deborah Parenti said. "She is an extremely well respected industry analyst who will bring fresh perspective and insight to this year's agenda."

Ed McLaughlin To Receive Radio Ink
Lifetime Leadership Award At Forecast 2011

Radio Ink is pleased to announce that the recipient of our 2010 Lifetime Leadership Award will be Ed McLaughlin, whose company launched The Rush Limbaugh Show into national syndication. McLaughlin was also a 14-year president of ABC Radio Networks and is Chairman Emeritus of the Broadcasters Foundation. The award will be presented at Radio Ink's Forecast 2011 conference, on December 7, 2010, in New York.

"Ed McLaughlin revolutionized the radio industry at a time when AM radio was dead," said Radio Ink Publisher/CEO Eric Rhoads."His launch of Rush Limbaugh not only saved AM radio, it changed the nature of Talk radio in America. He is a true visionary."

McLaughlin began his radio career in the late '50s in San Rafael, CA. He joined KGO/San Francisco as GSM in 1964, and was there as the station became one of the nation's first News/Talk outlets. McLaughlin was named president of ABC Radio Networks in 1972, and during his years heading the network added to its affiliate base and brought Watermark, the company responsible for Casey Kasem's American Top 40, into the ABC fold.

In 1987, McLaughlin formed EFM Radio, a production company devoted to Talk radio, producing the successful Dean Edell Show. And in 1988, he signed Limbaugh, at that time an up-and-coming political talk host in Sacramento. Within two years, the show's affiliates numbered in the hundreds, and Talk radio had been revolutionized.

McLaughlin became chairman of the board of the Broadcasters Foundation, and he today is chairman emeritus of the organization devoted to helping broadcasters in need. He was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1995.
