Is Huck Done With Radio Already?
Cumulus was hoping Mike Huckabee would eventually replace, or at least compete with, Rush at many talk stations across the country. In an Arkansas Business article, Huckabee is very non-committal to the radio show as he approaches his one-year anniversary in syndication. Cumulus signed and heavily promoted Huckabee when the company was also pushing a less partisan approach to talk radio, an alternative to Rush, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and others. That philosophy was pretty much abandoned when Cumulus scooped up Michael Savage after his public squabble and departure with TRN. Huckabee tells the Business Journal he'll decide in the next 30 days if he'll continue his radio show. Read the full article HERE.

Real talk radio died with Alan Berg. Rush is only a mirror copy of what Alan did.

It's pretty sad what talk radio has become. I recall the day when Limbaugh joined the great line-up of local talkers on WWDB-FM (Philly). It was a sad day.
They're not about educating people but rather indoctrinating US cizitens into a mind-set that is detroying this country whether it is conservative or liberal talk.
Hopefully local station operators across the country will continue to see a decline in audience with respect to national talkers and bring back the local guy who really cares about making a positive difference in the community.

Hopefully, this is a prelude to a presidential run next election!

Radio, to my mind, is a very special medium that requires an equally special mindset in order to participate - long term.
When it (radio) is used as no more than a promotional tool or as something to do between other gigs or opportunities, the lack of enthusiasm and emotional involvement shows.
While I disagree with Rush on just about everything including what day it is, he has demonstrated that necessary commitment to the medium.
Now, if only he would stop right there rather than trying to be the soul and a driving force of the GOP.
Huckabee is, as they say, "just passing through"....
