United Stations Launching Sports Feature

It's a daily short-form feature called Little Known Legends anchored by sportscaster Matt Vasgersian available to stations on the opening day of the 2013 MLB season, April 1. The feature will focus on a short, daily, quirky tidbits from sports history, according to United Stations, intended to create “water cooler chatter.” The feature will cover trivia and oddities from all major sports as well as secondary sports and the Olympics.
Matt Vasgersian is an MLB Network play-by-play announcer and studio host where he regularly appears on MLB Network Showcase, MLB Tonight, and Hot Stove as well as special event coverage and feature programming like MLB Network's Baseball IQ. Prior to joining MLB Network, Matt was the San Diego Padres' lead play-by-play announcer for seven years and in the Milwaukee Brewers' broadcast booth for five seasons.
Vasgersian enjoys a longstanding national role with the award-winning NBC Sports Olympic broadcast team, most recently handling play-by-play duties at the 2010 Vancouver Games. He’s also been the lead play-by-play voice for Sony Playstation's MLB The Show since 2005. He’s also covered college football and worked at FOX Sports handling coverage of Saturday baseball and FOX NFL Sunday.
