Premiere And Traffic Slowing Down Clear Channel In Q1

CFO Tom Casey said, thanks to radio, first quarter pacings were up 2 percent. However, when you add in the Clear Channel traffic division and Premiere Radio Networks, pacing pulls the Q1 pacings down to negative 3 percent, a 5 percent swing. "Premiere is having a tough start," Casey said. "The 4th quarter and the 1st quarter had a weaker start than broadcasting." Casey would not give specifics when asked why Premiere was off to a slow start. He did speculate that perhaps the network business was shifting over to national which was up 17 percent in Q4.
