No Charges Coming For Greig and Christian

British prosecutors will not file charges against anyone involved with a prank carried out by Australian DJ's Mel Greig and Michael Christian. Greig and Christian made prank call to the hospital a pregnant Kate Middleton was staying, playing back a nurses comments about her condition on the air. A nurse at the hospital committed suicide a few days later. Officials in the U.K. say they will not pursue criminal charges. Greig and Christian have been fired.

Deputy head of special crime at the Crown Prosecution Service Malcolm McHaffie said "Having carefully reviewed the evidence currently available, we have concluded that there is no evidence to support a charge of manslaughter." He also said that although there is some evidence to warrant further investigation into potential communications violations, it was not in the public interest to pursue charges. However misguided, the telephone call was intended as a harmless prank.
