Beasley Broadcasting's WQAM has suspended Dan Sileo for two days after a few inappropriate tweets aimed at Fox's Erin Andrews. Sileo who made it clear he was not a fan of Andrews, started tweeting his opinion about the Fox Sports broadcaster. Outside the protection of a radio studio where producers can decide if and when to hit the dump switch, social media allows for unedited and unstoppable opinions. And at times, that can be costly.
Sileo referred to Andrews as a bimbo in one tweet which was followed up with a tweet to "make me dinner, bake me a cake," "go cover a cat show," and, "I have no respect for her. Worst sports reporter chick in sports." There was one more tweet that we will not publish here. Sileo was somewhat surprised when he heard back from Andrews who defended herself. Sileo also heard from Beasley Broadcasting which decided he needed a 48-hour cooling off period.
Sileo will sit on the bench Monday and Tuesday. His show airs 10A-1P on Beasley's sports station in Miami. Sileo also tweeted out an apology to Andrews.
