WDBO-AM Orlando Goes ESPN November 12

10-8-2012

Cox's WDBO-AM will flip to ESPN starting November 12. WDBO is now simulcasting its News/Talk format heard on FM. Genesis Communications dropped its ESPN affiliation on October 1. "ESPN Florida" was heard on WHOO-1080 in Orlando. Orlando is Arbitron market #34.

Cox Orlando Market Manager Susan Larkin said, We are thrilled to offer Central Floridians the opportunity to hear ESPN on 580-AM with an exceptional radio signal allowing Orlando listeners to experience the best sports brand and most compelling sports radio content. In addition, the partnership with Disney and Disney Sports here in Orlando is a great move for Cox Media Group.

Additionally, ESPN 580-AM will partner with ESPN Wide World of Sports on special events and programming opportunities in Orlando, and present ESPN Radios national play-by-play coverage, including the NBA regular season, playoffs and finals; MLB regular season, playoffs and World Series; the BCS (with a full slate of regular season college football); the USGAs U.S. Open; the 2014 FIFA World Cup; and the Open Championship.
