Wow. And what's the monthly budget for a florist? $5K? $10K? I can't believe after all these years I've been missing out on a fortune by not getting florists to advertise on the radio. Maybe next week you can share the secrets of getting past the gate keeper at the local donut shop.

Bob, I'd appreciate it if you'd use a real name and email address instead of hiding behind a cloak of anonymity. But I'll address your comment. Of course people in 35+ keep doing business with many vendors that have been in their lives all of their lives... as long as they feel these businesses "have their backs." However, tonight, we're visiting a new local restaurant because we heard a commercial on the radio. Yesterday, we bought a jet ski based on an advertising campaign.

Of course, it's easy to be snarky and insulting when you're anonymous, isn't it? As a matter of fact, I worked with King Florist here in Austin that made quite a bit of money and wasn't afraid to spend it. Five thou a month was about right. Sometimes more. She did big weddings in the many thousands of dollars range. Gross margin of profit is high, 70 percent after the cost of flowers. You are wrong to suggest florists aren't worth persuing.
