I think it's funny as heck. People need to lighten up. There's nothing wrong with pushing boundaries.

it's part of major market radio's "he's making us a lot of money" until "he's costing us a lot of money." Major market radio doesn't have to run into their listeners in the local grocery store or corner bar or church on a daily/weekly basis and deal with listeners, so they believe they're above answering to this kind of stuff until the lawyers come calling and then it's too late.

People have to be held accountable for what they do

perfect example is the poor nurse from England and the radio show in Australia

In this day and age, whoever APPROVED a segment called Retarded News should be fired along with this twit. Yes, we get the meaning and intent of the word isn't aimed at the handicapped/disabled. But that doesn't mean that a big segment of the listener base isn't going to be offended and fire up the lawyers about it! Especially if you attach a picture of someone with an affliction like Down's Syndrome to it. Stupid. Just plain stupid.

Some management people ought to be out the door, too. Aside from the fact that it's just plain tasteless, how can you let somebody post something like that on the station's website without a release from the person in the photo?
