Beasley Broadcasting in SW Florida are doing a pretty good job with this type of format. KROCK was a fairly talk heavy Classic Rock station that's now being branded as "Talk That Rocks" with talk in the prime dayparts and music on the weekends. It's a great station doing almost exactly as you prescribe.

I find it passing strange, to use a McFarlaneism, that nowhere in this article does the notion of service to the community appear. You ostensibly have a license for a reason, to be of service to your community. That community isn't served with "the latest scoop on celebrities, comedy, entertainment, [or] brilliantly created 'bits'."
Lisa is not wrong - so far as it goes.
Multiple talking heads is going to require 1. Multiple, superior talents. 2. A budget to attract and hold this talent.
I'm sure most can figure out where I'm going with this.
(Now, if only Donny Osmond could get his people to cobble together a morning show for him. Maybe Marie could drop in on a semi-regular basis.)
