If CC wants to save money shut down HD Radio
Over 2 billions wasted on equipment, rent, electricity and licenses and ZERO profit. Why? Mr Hogan and some others get a lot of $$$$ from IBiquity

Dan's comment gets real close to a faith-based statement. In this case, though, "faith" is just another word for credulous or gullible or delusional.

These guys at C.C. (and others) haven't got a rat's-ass clue of how to run a single radio station - never mind hundreds and hundreds of them.

They are in the process of gutting their own resources. Why? Because they are up to luongos in debt, frustration and misery.

Plus, Robert "The Bob"'s sincerity and a buck, ninety-five.....

I just heard Bob Pittman and John Hogan speak at the Radio Inc Forecast and they are both enthused about radio. They want the best for the industry and everyone in it. You can be sure these layoffs are a economic necessity. Like cut off the hand to save the body. I can assure every one in radio they agonized over it. They both are great for the industry; pray for them do not demonize them. Dan

Cloudchaser, it's not because the "employees are not needed" - Many CC stations don't engage in very much community outreach anymore because they do not have the employees to do so. CC cannot afford the size of its workforce because its management has made one bad decision after another that have damaged if not destroyed the profitability of the company.

Again,Why waste my talents on CC or other companies run by idiots that have
no clue of how to really operate radio
stations. The public trust be damned. now get what you deserve for screwing so many greatpeople. Merry

It does seem awfully mean to lay people off just a few weeks before Christmas. But if given the choice, I would rather be laid off a few weeks before Christmas than to be laid off after I've spent a bunch of money in connection with this time of year.

Also, companies exist to make a profit, not provide jobs. Why should any company retain workers that aren't needed just because they're not in the red?

It's bad enough these layoffs have to happen but they always do it at Christmas. What a wonderful group of people...not
