(07/01/2002) 2002 NAB Marconi Radio Award Nominees Announced
More than 100 radio stations and on-air personalities have been selected as finalists for the National Association of Broadcasters' Marconi Radio Awards competition. Established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner, Guglielmo Marconi, the Marconi Awards are given to radio stations and outstanding on-air personalities to recognize excellence in radio.
An independent task force selected finalists in 20 categories. Ballots will be sent to members of the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy in mid-July. The ballots are tabulated by KPMG.
The winners in each category will be announced on September 14th at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, WA. The annual dinner & show, radio's premier awards program, will be the grand finale to The NAB Radio Show.
