(4/1/02) WQAM-AM Miami To Continue Broadcasting Marlins' Baseball Games.
WQAM-AM Sports Radio (560 kHz), announced today that it has entered into a one-year agreement with Major League Baseball's Florida Marlins for radio broadcast rights to the Marlins' games. WQAM, the official voice of the Florida Marlins, has been broadcasting Marlins' baseball since the team's 1993 inaugural season. Marlins games will continue to feature the commentary of local sports personalities Dave Van Horne and Jon "Boog" Sciambi. In 2002, WQAM Sports Radio will broadcast all 162 Marlins baseball games.

Commenting on the agreement, George G. Beasley, chairman and chief executive officer of WQAM's owner, Beasley Broadcast Group Inc., stated, "Beasley and WQAM look forward to developing a great working relationship with the Marlins' new owner, Jeffrey Loria, and we're excited to be able to announce the continuation of our broadcasting alliance."
