(10/16/2001) WGN Owns The Windy City Once Again. Program Director Mary June Rose Keeps The AM Flamethrower On Top Of the Ratings Heap.
In Chicago — no surprise — WGN-AM is on top again. Even with a slight drop, the Tribune-owned station rules the Windy City. Even in a major market, WGN wins in Chicago by a ratings mile. WGN finishes the summer book with a 6.7, and WGCI comes in second with a 5.3.

In third place is WBBM-AM with a 5.0. WNUA came in 4th with a 4.7, and WVAZ-FM rounds out the top five with a 4.5.

WGN is programmed by Mary June Rose, and WGCI is programmed by Elroy Smith. These are two of the Best Program Directors in America, according to the October 29th issue of Radio Ink magazine.
