(9/13/2001) How Radio Stations Can Use E-Mail Database To Comfort And Help Listeners.
If you have a collection of e-mail names, you may want to consider this e-mail sent to us by 99X in Atlanta:

All of us here at 99X share your feelings and emotions about the tragic events of yesterday. We have decided to do our share to help the innocent victims in New York, Pittsburgh, and Washington, and ask you to join us in making "America Be Strong." 99X is partnering with Simon Properties, Kroger, and McDonald's to help raise money for the American Red Cross.

99X will be broadcasting live from Lenox Square this Thursday and Friday from 6:00AM-7:00PM. We invite you to come to the main mall entrance, facing Peachtree Road, to donate money that will go directly to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The first 200 people that make a donation each morning, starting at 6:30AM, will get free breakfast, courtesy of McDonald's. Also, the first 200 people who donate money at our broadcast after 11:30AM will get a free lunch from McDonald's, as well.

99X and Simon Properties will be accepting donations at all six of their malls throughout the rest of this week and over the weekend. You can stop by Lenox Square, Gwinnett Place, Mall of Georgia, Northlake, Phipps Plaza, or Town Center at Cobb between 10:00AM and 9:00PM Monday through Saturday, and Noon to 6:00PM on Sunday. Just stop by the Simon Marketplace Information Booth in each mall to make your donation.

All Atlanta-area Kroger locations will be accepting donations at the Customer Service desks or at any cashier. You can "round-up" any purchase to make your donation. We are also accepting donations here at our studios from 8:30AM-5:30PM on weekdays. We are located at 780 Johnson Ferry Road on the 5th Floor. For directions to the station, simply go to 99X.com.

We are dedicated to keeping you updated on all the news regarding this situation, so keep listening to 99X throughout your day for the latest updates and any breaking news. You can also go to our website at 99X.com for the latest information on the investigations and all relief efforts.

All of us here at 99X want to thank you for helping us make
"America Be Strong" in this time of tragedy!
