CBS Radio/San Francisco Brings KFRC Back, In Oldies Form

SAN FRANCISCO -- December 24, 2008: CBS Radio is bringing back KFRC in a new, Oldies incarnation on New Year's Day, taking the 1550 AM signal that's now home to Talk KYCY and turning into KFRC-AM, airing Scott Shannon's syndicated Oldies format. Former Classic Hits KFRC-FM became a simulcast of News clustermate KCBS-AM in October.

"We are pleased to announced that KFRC and Oldies are starting the new year in the Bay Area," said CBS Radio/San Francisco VP/Market Manager Doug Harville. "Scott Shannon has done a terrific job helping us put together an entertaining station playing the music that KFRC listeners have enjoyed for years."

The Classic Hits programming that remained online at www.kfrc.com and on KFRC's HD2 channel will continue, CBS Radio said.
