Radio Revenues Fall 1 Percent In April

NEW YORK -- May 16, 2008: Radio revenues fell by just 1 percent in April, with national revenues off 5 percent and local down by 1 percent. Local and national combined for a 2 percent decline.

Nonspot revenue was up by 8 percent, a relative slowdown from double-digit gains of 18 percent in March, 17 percent in February, and 11 percent in January.

April's 1 percent overall drop follows a worse-than-expected 8 percent decline in March, a 2 percent dip in February, and a 6 percent year-over-year decline in January.

RAB revenue numbers are based on approximately 100 markets as reported by Miller Kaplan Arase & Co.
