ATLANTA -- April 23, 2008: Lincoln Financial Media has filed suit against Steve McCoy and Vikki Locke, formerly in mornings at Top 40 WSTR (Star 94 FM)/Atlanta and on their way to Cox's crosstown AC WSB-FM (B98.5), over B98.5 TV spots that LFM says violate the duo's six-month noncompete. The spots promote Steve and Vikki's upcoming B98.5 morning show, set to begin July 1.
Cox Radio President/CEO said in a statement e-mailed to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "We are confident that there have been no violations fo Steve and Vikki's noncompete clause. It's a shame that Steve and Vikki are being badgered while following the rules in pursuing their new career opportunities. Following their relase from Star 94, Cox Radio eagerly welcomes these A-plus-rated personalities to B98.5 FM."
As of Tuesday, the spots were still on the air, the paper reported.
