New Book On HD Radio Published
ST. LOUIS -- April 14, 2008: Focal Press, working with the Society of Broadcast Engineering, has just published HD Radio Implementation: The Field Guide for Facilities Conversion, by Buckley Broadcasting VP/Corporate Director of Engineering Tom Ray.
Chapters include an introduction to HD Radio; "The Studio Facility," covering the audio components needed for a successful conversion to HD; "Audio Processing for HD Radio," with the basics of audio coding for HD; and detailed step-by-step guides for getting AM and FM HD Radio signals up and running.
Ray also writes about his own experiences operating a hybrid AM HD station, WOR/New York, since 2002.
The book is primarily for station engineers, but, says the publisher, after reading the book, "the general manager, program director, and operations director will be able to understand the nature of HD Radio and how it will affect their facility.”
The book is available here.
