XM, Sirius Do Some Serious Spending

Sirius and XM satellite radio spent a total of $810,000 in the first half of this year to lobby the federal government for the approval of their proposed merger. XM spent $580,000 while Sirius
spent $230,000.

The merge faces stiff opposition from lawmakers over concerns it would create a satellite radio monopoly and lead to higher prices.
