Former Library Of American Broadcasting President Luongo Dead At 58

Lucille F. Luongo, the immediate past president of the Library of American Broadcasting, died on Wednesday evening, January 11th at her home in Chappaqua, New York. She was 58 years old and had been ill with cancer since last September.

In addition to her position with the library, Luongo was a past national president of the American Women in Radio and Television, a former SVP of Corporate Communications for Katz Media Corporation and a decade long director of the Broadcasters’ Foundation.

AWRT President Chickie Bucco commented that “Lucille was a strong leader and advocate for women in radio and television. She will be remembered for many things including how she helped lay a solid foundation for AWRT – a legacy that has seen upward trajectory ever since her tenure.”

The family requests that in lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial gifts to the Broadcasters’ Foundation Endowment Fund, 7 Lincoln Avenue, Greenwich, Connecticut.
