It’s Official: Talk Radio’s The Ed Schultz Show Teams With P1
As reported here last week, Randy Michaels’ new company, P1, has obtained The Ed Schultz Show from Democracy Radio. Michaels took the opportunity yesterday to officially welcome Schultz to his new radio venture.
P1 CEO Michaels, formerly CEO of Clear Channel Radio and Jacor, along with P1 President Stu Krane, formerly VP of ABC and Premiere Radio Networks, created their new company as a vehicle to launch radio shows that have proven track records and that they feel are ready for greater exposure.
According to Michaels, “Compelling, high energy radio draws listeners, ratings and advertisers. Ed and his team are on target with the issues, speak to the heartland, and generate excitement. The Ed Schultz Show sets a new standard for talk radio.”
Schultz, host of the daily three-hour program that broadcasts from Fargo, North Dakota, commented, “Somewhere along the line the radio industry got vapor-locked into believing that progressive talk radio couldn’t survive and thrive in a nation split right down the middle between Democrats and Republicans. I’m here to prove that isn’t so. It doesn’t matter what your affiliation is. The big question is: ‘Are people listening?’”
