Clear Channel Expands Progressive Talk To Two More Stations

Clear Channel Radio has announced that two additional stations are adopting a progressive talk format, converting stations in Ann Arbor, MI and San Diego to the programming. The company also announced that it expects to introduce progressive talk programming on at least two stations in Top-25 markets within the next 60 days.

“In certain local markets, listeners are clearly finding progressive talk radio entertaining and informative,” said John Hogan, president and chief executive officer of Clear Channel Radio. “We’ve been delighted with the ratings generated by our progressive talk radio stations.”

In just one example, Clear Channel cites how KPOJ-AM in Portland, OR, has moved from 26th position to 3rd among adults 25-to-64 since making the switch earlier this year.

Clear Channel Radio stations adopting the format air a combination of local hosts and syndicated content including shows from leading talkers Ed Schultz, Lionel, Phil Hendrie, and Air America Radio’s Randi Rhodes and Al Franken.
