Grandy Joins WMAL Morning News Fred Grandy has joined Andy Parks as co-host of ABC Radio News/Talk WMAL/Washington, DC’s 5-9am “Morning News.” WMAL President/GM Chris Berry said, “Fred brings an incredible range of experience to WMAL. He’s as comfortable picking apart a Congressional tax relief package on the air as he is telling a story from his days in Hollywood. Fred and Andy clicked instantly – better and faster than we could’ve imagined. Our audience picked up on their energy immediately, and we’ve been deluged with hundreds of positive phone calls and emails. The listeners told us they want to wake up to ‘Grandy and Andy’, and we were more than happy to oblige! ” Grandy added, “I’ve really enjoyed working on a freelance basis at WMAL over the past five years and it’s great to be joining the team full time. Andy and I have had a ball working together. Knowing that I’ll be facing the dawn with him every day makes those 2am wake up calls a little easier to take.” A past President/CEO of Goodwill Industries, Grandy served four terms in the House. The Harvard University graduate was “Gopher” in the long-running TV series “The Love Boat.”
