, CEO of Borrell Associates, is a sought-after speaker for conferences and company meetings and one of the media industry’s leading analysts. Before starting Borrell Associates, Gordon was vice president for new media for Landmark Communications, where he worked for 22 years. He started his career as a reporter and editor for The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1989 he began pioneering interactive ventures and helped establish the first TV, newspaper, cable, and network TV websites. Borrell conceptualized and helped create InfiNet, an Internet access and hosting company later split up and sold to Earthlink and to Gannett Co.

 

Dan Halyburton is VP/Innovation at McVay New Media. Before joining McVay, he served as President of RadioTime, and prior to that he was SVP/Market Manager for Emmis Communications' three radio stations in New York. Halyburton earlier spent 25 years with Susquehanna Radio, where he was SVP/GM for Group Operations, overseeing many facets of operations, including innovative interactive and streaming programs. Recognized as a pioneer in Internet radio technologies, Halyburton has testified before the United States House and Senate on behalf of the NAB.



Kurt Hanson is publisher of the daily web-based newsletter RAIN: Radio And Internet Newsletter and, as such, is considered perhaps the world’s leading expert in the field of Internet radio. As a popular keynote speaker, he has given his "State of the Industry Address" on the future of radio at conferences around the world. Hanson is also CEO of AccuRadio, one of the world’s leading personalizable Internet radio properties, reaching over a half-million unique listeners per month.Before launching RAIN and AccuRadio, Hanson developed his reputation within the radio industry as the founder and CEO of Strategic Media Research (1980-2000), a market research firm respected throughout the industry for its STAR professional callout music research program and its AccuRatings product, which he built into a $10 million business.

 

Buzz Knight is VP/Program Development for Greater Media, overseeing programming for all of the Greater Media properties and collaborating with the individual programming teams to build winning content and brand-management strategies. Knight has been with Greater Media since February 2002. Before that, he worked at radio stations including CBS Radio's Classic Rock WZLX/Boston, Saga Communications' Rock WNOR in Norfolk, and Great American’s Rock WLVQ in Columbus, OH. In addition, he spent three years as part of the legendary WNEW-FM in New York City. Knight launched his broadcasting career at WRKI in Fairfield County, CT.

 

Ruth Presslaff is President of Presslaff Interactive Revenue. Started in 1988, PIR (originally The Media Gallery Inc.) combines proprietary state-of-the-art technology with experienced database marketing and sales practices. PIR's Dat-e Base E-mail Marketing software is used by more radio stations than any other industry platform. Presslaff has an extensive radio background, ranging from on-air work in New Orleans to senior radio network management experience. She started PIR more than 20 years ago and is a sought-after speaker on the programming, marketing, and sales benefits of interactive technology and database marketing.

 

Scott Wallace, CTO of YouPlus Media, is a second-generation broadcaster with over 25 years of experience in the industry. He has extensive knowledge of broadcast operations/engineering and information systems, telecommunications, e-business, project management, Internet technologies, and infrastructures. Wallace is an entrepreneur and owned one of the first Internet technology companies in the Midwest. He has worked for such highly respected broadcast and online companies as Border Media Partners, serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer; Univision Communications, where he served as Director of Information Technology; and Strategic IT Solutions, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.
