Pahigian Replaces Kiernan At WBAL

It was back in January that Pahigian left Saga in Portland, Maine, after running their eight-station cluster for 15 years. (Read our interview with Pahigian HERE.) Pahigian has been named President and General Manager of WBAL-AM and WIYY-FM in Baltimore. The stations are owned by Hearst. Pahigian succeeds Ed Kiernan, who is retiring after running the stations for 23 years.

Before Saga, Pahigian was Vice President and General Manager of Boch Broadcasting in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, growing a start-up venture – including one of the nation’s first FM News/Talk stations – to a successful five-station, multi-format broadcast group with a strong community presence. Previously, he served as Vice President of Operations with Sconnix Broadcasting in Vienna, Virginia, and as Station Manager for Boston radio powerhouse WBZ-AM and as Program/Operations Manager at WIP in Philadelphia.
