Roy Elsner Dies At Age 89


Elsner was known for introducing FM radio to West Texas. He died of of lung, heart, and kidney failure, according to OA Online. Elsner was born in the Chicago area and moved to Odessa, Texas, for a job in radio at an AM station back in 1947. He founded KQIP, the first FM radio station in West Texas. Elsner was also a decorated World War Two vet.
