CPB Funds New Local Journalism Center

12-17-13

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced that it has awarded a $1.4 million grant for the creation of a new, multimedia local journalism center  that will focus on energy issues. CPB CEO Pat Harrison said, The new center builds on CPB's commitment to the funding of public media news and public affairs content. The LJCs are making an impact locally, regionally, and nationally. CPBs LJC initiative will build local journalism coverage through collaboration among public radio and television stations. By drawing on a pool of reporters and editors, LJC's are able to provide a greater scope of coverage as well as diversity in public media content.
