WTOP's Bob Madigan Retiring

12-5-13

Madigan has been in the radio business for 50 years, 20 of them at WTOP and WASH. He's been an anchor, a reporter and, for a long time, WTOPs Man About Town. WTOP's Director of Operations Jim Farley says, "Bob covered so many events, that in less than a year on the beat, he was emcee, announcer, or a celebrity judge. He became a one-main marketing machine for WTOP, getting our name out there in a positive way that was priceless."

Madigan has won an Edward R. Murrow Award, an Overseas Press Club Award, The Freedom Foundation Award, and an Armstrong Award.

Bob also served our country (Air Force, Webb Air Base Big Spring, Texas) and anchored news on NBC's "The Source" an early attempt at demographically focused 'LifeStyle' network new.

Enjoy your next adventure, Bob.
