Rush: Clear Channel's Anchorman

12-5-13

He calls himself America's anchorman and Clear Channel couldn't agree with him more. Clear Channel loves to take Rush off an already established station to anchor other stations the company wants to lifted up. With 26 years on the air, most of it as the number one talker on radio, Rush is often called in to do the heavy lifting. In Los Angeles Rush will be moving from KFI to KTLK-AM. And in San Francisco Rush will be jump from KKSF-AM to KNEW-AM. In New York, as has been widely reported, Rush is moving from Cumulus' WABC to Clear Channel's WOR. Cumulus did sign a new deal with Rush to keep him on many of their other talk stations. Rush as the anchor to build around is a strategy Clear Channel has deployed in Houston, Boston, Pittsburgh and other markets.
