Did "El Mandril" Tamper With Ratings

12-4-13

More controversy surrounding a popular Hispanic morning show host. Ricardo Sanchez, known as "El Mandril," disappeared from KLAX-FM in Los Angeles. The station is owned by SBS. The L.A. Times is now reporting Sanchez's manager, Fernando Schiantarelli, says Sanchez was pulled from the air during negotiations over his employment contract. And there's an investigation that he tampered with ratings by contacting listeners who have a PPM.

Schiantarelli tells the Times, "There was an investigation raised by some other competitors who were very concerned that Mandril was being so successful. Such investigations — and complaints from rivals — are not uncommon in the industry." He said the investigation didn't turn up anything.
