Chicago Bears Eye Their Own HD Channel
This isn't new for professional sports franchises. In fact the Pittsburg Penguins, Philadelphia Phillies and Dallas Cowboys already have their own HD outlets. Broadcasting specialty shows and minor league games are just another way for these teams to extend their brands. The Bears have a deal with WBBM to use 105.9 HD3 as its own exclusive radio outlet. And the Chicago Tribune is reporting Bears President Ted Phillips hopes to make that happen in 2015. "The HD penetration still is not that high. It's very labor intensive. We have to make sure it is worth it."
