Pandora Debuts New Brand Identity, Logo
In a move designed to reflect "the company's mission to cultivate a better musical future for artists and listeners alike," Pandora has debuted a new logo, app icon, and design, released Wednesday with Pandora 5.0. There's also a new "video manifesto" declaring Pandora's "Let There Be Music" purpose. The new look is live today on iOS (Apple) devices and will appear in the coming weeks on Android apps and Pandora's website.
Pandora intends the new look as part of a bolder, more modern identity. Pandora Chief Marketing Officer Simon Fleming-Wood said, "We believe Pandora is cultivating a better musical future by enabling an effortless and endless exchange where music flows freely from the artists who create it to the audiences who love it. This definition of our purpose has become the foundation for the evolution of our brand strategy.
Pandora 5.0 is a redesign of the pureplay streamer's app for the iPad, offering more personalization, deeper music discovery and exploration, and a personal music profile and music feed. Pandora CTO/EVP of Product Tom Conrad said, "Our mission is to provide the best personalized radio experience to our more than 200 million registered listeners in any context on any connected device. The tablet category continues to demonstrate strong growth and momentum, and the iPad's big touch interface makes it an ideal environment for listeners to seamlessly explore the music they're listening to and discover new favorites. We're thrilled to deliver this new Pandora experience."
