NPR Looks to Cut 10% of Workforce
In addition to the Haaga announcement, the NPR Board of Directors approved a budget for fiscal year 2014. The organization will try to achieve a balanced budget over the next two years. The budget includes a voluntary organization-wide buyout with a goal of reducing approximately 10% of its employees. NPR said the buyouts were part of a strategy to eliminate the deficit and lower ongoing expenses.
