Two Arrested Over FL Pirate Station
Sheriffs and federal authorities have arrested two men, accusing them of operating a pirate radio station at 97.7 FM in Ocala, FL. Ocala.com reports that FCC agents found the station operating from a mobile home with a radio tower behind it. The Marion County Sheriff's Office listened to the station -- which was airing Spanish-language music and advertising -- and, after obtaining a search warrant, arrested the duo,
Juan Ramon Nieves, who admitted owning the station, was charged with operating an unlicensed radio station, while Luis Alfredo Galindo, who said he worked for Nieves, was charged with unauthorized transmissions or interfering with a radio station.
