iBiquity to Showcase New Mitsubishi HD Radio
This will be the first public demonstration of the new advanced navigation system to incorporate Nokia’s HD Radio traffic service. The service will now be available to Mitsubishi owners free of charge. Drivers will have access to real-time traffic information that extends beyond highways to include smaller roadways which will have the same level of accuracy on traffic speed and time delays due to road closures or construction. Additionally, Nokia’s HD Radio service will also include weather reports and fuel prices.
iBiquity COO Jeff Jury said, “We are excited to be able to demonstrate this new platform to the public. This is an excellent example of how automakers and broadcasters are partnering to leverage our technology to offer new services to their customers. Mitsubishi is one of the first OEMs that have announced their integration of HD Radio Digital Traffic services and we expect a number of additional announcements throughout the year.”
