Is Crow Blaming Radio for Warwick Bankruptcy
In a series of Tweets Thursday, Sheryl Crow took aim at radio after the news that Dionne Warwick filed for bankruptcy for mismanaging her money. Crow tweeted, "Dionne Warwick does not get paid for her beautiful recordings when they are played on the radio. She had to file for bankruptcy today."
Warwick says she is $10 million in debt after "gross financial mismanagement" according to her publicist. Crow also tweeted, "Sad - US doesn't pay artist/musicians for their performances on radio. Only writers are paid. US, china, and Iran. We need to change that."

Dionne had her run in the 60's-80's. I am and was a fan. Radio should not be responsible for paying the artists when their songs are played. They are the beneficiary of free publicity. And, stations pay enough to BMI, ASCAP and SESAC.
Sheryl's a hottie. And has pretty feet. But I can't take her singing.

Dear Cheryl - While it’s sad, yet it is hearting to see a once great performer attempt to bring meaning and purpose back to their career.
It’s good that you’ve found an alternate “voice” now that you’re in the twilight of your career. Those that can’t do certainly can continue to contribute if not in a small way on a small parcel of the music scene. Your grace, poise and radiance continue to shine well beyond those years we will remember you for.

"Your too stupid to operate a radio?" Maybe the person who said this meant" You're too stupid. Who's the stupid one now? Learn the English language.
