Former L.A. Host Gets 10 Years in Prison

On Tuesday, 56 year old John Farahi pleaded guilty to running a $24.4 million fraud involving fake securities linked to the federal Troubled Asset Relief Program. According to the feds, Farahi admitted to bilking investors by promising to buy TARP-backed corporate bonds and admitted to conspiring with his lawyer to obstruct a SEC probe. Farahi hosted a financial talk show called "Economy Today" on Persian-language KIRN-AM radio.
