Clear Channel says a new feature called “Add-Ins,” is now available to listeners using iHeartradio on the desktop. The feature will enable iHeartRadio listeners to insert short local news, weather, and traffic updates into their custom stations. Once a listener starts a custom station, the first add-in will play about eight minutes later. They will air every hour after that, but if there's a station change, it will play eight minutes in again.
The geo-targeted news and information taps into Clear Channel's 850 stations in 150 markets to increase listeners' personalization. Add-ins on iPhone and Android will be available soon.
