Katz Comes Out Strong For Broadcasters Foundation

3-4-2013
Katz Media Group's fourth annual membership drive ups the rep firm's support for the Broadcasters Foundation to nearly $140,000 since the drives began in 2009. Foundation President Jim Thompson said, "Katz is a terrific corporate champion for the foundation, and we are very appreciative of the support and encouragement the company provides." Katz Radio Group President Mark Gray said, "We are extremely proud of our employees and their continued dedication to the Broadcasters Foundation and its worthy efforts." He said the drive has become even more meaningful now that it helps fund the Stu Olds Memorial Fund, named in honor of the late Katz president and CEO.
Thompson continued, "With these contributions, we are able to continue our work of helping those in our industry who have fallen on hard times. And we continue to seek additional companies who want to partner with us to host employee membership drives. We urge all broadcasters to consider involvement as the individuals we assist aren’t strangers -- these are our former colleagues and bosses. We never know who might need our help down the road."
Since it was founded 60 years ago, the Broadcasters Foundation has distributed millions of dollars in aid to colleagues in need. These funds have been obtained through ongoing outreach for membership, individual and corporate contributions, and fundraising events. Corporate membership drives, such as the one at Katz Media Group, provide critical support for future planning and service, like the Stu Olds Memorial Fund.
