MyStationApp Relaunches Today
3-4-13
MyStationApp will be launching an all-new version of its app during Radio Ink's Convergence today. A new app interface with several new features, unique in the radio industry will be part of the new version. The new app features include Song Ratings, in which listeners can rate every song played by the station on a scale of 1-5. This feature was inspired in part by music services like Pandora, where listeners can offer feedback. The difference? MyStationApp data is more specific (not just a thumbs up or down) and can be curated for use as real music research.
Addressing the idea that owner-operators and radio marketers are hungry for user info, MyStationApp built another research-based function into the app: User Analytics. This feature provides instant access to download numbers and qualitative listener data.
Another new function in the MyStationApp platform, is a CMS Dashboard, equipped for multi-platform content sharing. The goal of the Dashboard is to centralize all the station-listener connections into one central location, making it easier to manage website, blog, loyalty program and "push notifications".
Perhaps the most notable new feature is Training and Support for station sales personnel. "The biggest challenge we heard about all year is that radio sales people had yet to fully embrace mobile", noted Acquisto. The response? Provide resources for local sales people: white-labeled presentations and sales packages, ongoing training and consultation with industry experts and access to "The Network".
