Gordy Rush Wins Louisiana Broadcaster of the Year

Guaranty Broadcasting’s Vice President/Market Manager Gordy Rush was named the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters “Broadcaster of the Year” at the LAB’s Annual Prestige Awards Luncheon. The “Broadcaster of the Year” award is given annually to the top owner or general manager in the State of Louisiana in either the radio or television industry. Rush also won the LAB’s “Golden Mike Award” in 2009 given to making him the first person to receive both awards.
Eagle 98.1, WDGL, nabbed the “Major Market Radio Station of the Year” for the third time in five years. Eagle 98.1 is the flagship station for LSU Sports and the Home of “Walton and Johnson”. WBRP, Talk 107.3’s afternoon drive host Bill Profita was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for Radio. WNXX, 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge took home the “Radio Promotion of the Year” for their Kia giveaway in the fall of 2012. Eagle 98.1’s Scotty Drake won the “Community Service Award – Year Long Effort” for his Sunday Morning show “Community Concerns”.
