Hackers Send Out Zombie Alert Using EAS

Several radio and Television stations had their EAS systems hacked into prompting the FCC to send out an urgent advisory. The fake alerts sent out by hackers spoke of Xombie attacks. The FCC advisory says, "All EAS Participants are required to take immediate action to secure their CAP EAS equipment, including resetting passwords, and ensuring CAP EAS equipment is secured behind properly configured firewalls and other defensive measures."
