Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan will have another platform to talk about his FM chip project when he keynotes opening day of the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville next month. Smulyan will talk about radio's mobile opportunities and most likely give Country PDs an update on Next Radio, which is the app consumers will eventually see on their cell phones that will play local radio without eating up data. Smulyan was the key negotiator with Sprint, which has agreed to roll out new phones using an FM chip to access local radio.
