VOA Board Blasted In Report
1-20-2013
The New York Daily News is reporting that the inspector general has investigated the board running Voice of America/Radio Free Europe, and the report says the board is "hobbled by chronic absenteeism, vacancies that have gone unfilled, outright conflicts of interest, and a degree of hostility that renders its deliberative process ineffectual.” The board has operated without a chairman since the resignation of former Time Magazine and CNN executive Walter Isaacson and the report apparently lays a lot of the blame on board member Victor Ashe.
