Emmis Same Station Revenue Up 5%

Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan reported Thursday that same station revenue for the quarter ending November 30 was up 5 percent. And if not for a lackluster September, the number would have been better. Revenue for Emmis in September was down 4 percent before it shot the other way, gaining 10 percent in October and 11 percent in November. Auto is Emmis' biggest category, jumping 8 percent in the quarter. January and February pacings are down. Smulyan says the uncertainty in Washington over budgets is the cause.
